Coastal Cart Co. — Rental Terms & Conditions

We want your golf cart rental to be simple, safe and hassle-free. These terms explain what we expect from you and what you can expect from us.

By booking a cart with Coastal Cart Co., you agree to the following.

1. Booking & Payment

Full payment is required when you book. Your reservation is confirmed once payment has been received.
Rental days are based on 24-hour periods beginning at your agreed rental start time.
Prices are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.

2. Cancellations

Cancel at least 48 hours before your rental begins and we'll provide a full refund.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the rental begins are non-refundable.
Once your rental has started, there are no refunds for early returns or unused rental time.
Normal rain or changes in weather do not change the cancellation policy. If severe weather makes golf cart use unsafe, Coastal Cart Co. may offer a refund or credit depending on the circumstances.

## 3. Drivers

All drivers must:

- Be at least 21 years old

- Have a valid driver's licence

- Be identified as an authorized driver on the rental

The person making the booking is responsible for providing the required information for all authorized drivers and making sure everyone using the cart follows these rules.

Do not allow anyone who is not an authorized driver to operate the cart.

## 4. Alcohol & Drugs

Never operate the cart while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, drugs, medication or anything else that affects your ability to drive safely.

All drivers must follow Costa Rican impaired-driving laws.

## 5. Seat Belts & Passengers

Seat belts must be worn while the cart is moving.

A 4-seat cart may carry a maximum of 4 people and a 6-seat cart may carry a maximum of 6 people.

The cart must also stay within its manufacturer's weight limits.

Do not allow passengers to stand, ride on steps or ride anywhere that is not a proper seat.

Parents and guardians are responsible for the safety of children travelling with them and for following Costa Rican child passenger and restraint requirements.

Coastal Cart Co. does not provide or install child seats or child restraints.

## 6. Where You Can Drive

Our carts may be driven on normal paved and unpaved public/access roads within Coastal Cart Co.'s approved operating area.

We will provide you with information about the permitted area and any roads or areas that should be avoided.

Do not drive the cart:

- On beaches

- On trails, fields or construction areas

- Off-road for recreational purposes

- Through rivers, streams, deep or standing water, or flooded roads

- On roads specifically identified by Coastal Cart Co. as prohibited

- On roads or terrain that are obviously unsafe for a golf cart because of steep grades, washouts, deep mud, flooding or poor conditions

Some roads and hills in our area require extra care. Please follow the driving and area instructions we provide when your cart is delivered.

If you take the cart into a prohibited area, you are responsible for any resulting damage and the reasonable cost of towing or recovering the cart.

## 7. Charging

Please follow the charging instructions provided when your cart is delivered.

Mechanical or battery problems that occur through normal use are our responsibility.

If the cart runs out of charge because it wasn't charged as instructed, the battery level was ignored, or because of similar customer misuse, you are responsible for any reasonable roadside assistance or recovery costs.

## 8. Breakdowns

If the cart develops a mechanical or electrical problem through no fault of yours, contact us.

We'll make reasonable efforts to repair the cart or provide a replacement cart.

If we're unable to provide you with a usable cart for part of your rental, we'll refund or credit you for the rental time you were without one.

Coastal Cart Co. isn't responsible for other expenses resulting from a breakdown, such as taxis, missed reservations, tours, flights or accommodation costs.

If a breakdown or damage is caused by misuse, prohibited driving or failure to follow our instructions, there is no refund for the resulting downtime. You are also responsible for applicable repair and recovery costs.

Providing another cart following customer-caused damage or misuse is at Coastal Cart Co.'s discretion and subject to availability.

## 9. Flat Tires

If you get a flat tire, contact us and we'll assist you within our normal service area.

You are responsible for tire or wheel damage caused by misuse, impact, prohibited-road use or continuing to drive on a flat tire.

Normal tire wear is our responsibility.

## 10. Accidents & Damage

If you're involved in a collision, someone is injured, the cart becomes unsafe to drive or significant damage occurs, contact Coastal Cart Co. immediately.

Minor cosmetic damage should be reported as soon as reasonably practical.

Please:

- Stop using the cart if continuing to drive could cause more damage or be unsafe

- Take photos when possible

- Provide us with accurate information about what happened

- Cooperate with us if additional information is needed

- Do not arrange or authorize repairs yourself

## 11. Your Responsibility for Damage

You are responsible for damage to the cart caused during your rental through collision, accident, misuse, negligence, prohibited use or failure to follow the instructions provided by Coastal Cart Co.

This can include damage to the body, seats, wheels, tires, suspension, undercarriage, electrical system, charging equipment and other parts of the cart.

You are responsible for the reasonable cost of repairing that damage, along with towing or recovery costs when applicable.

If customer-caused damage makes the cart unavailable for a confirmed future booking, you are also responsible for rental revenue that Coastal Cart Co. can show was actually lost because the damaged cart could not fulfill that booking.

We will provide reasonable documentation of damage and repair costs, such as photographs, repair invoices or estimates.

Amounts owed for damage are payable within 7 days of receiving our invoice or payment request.

## 12. Condition of the Cart

We may photograph or video the cart before delivery and after pickup to document its condition.

Please let us know promptly if you notice existing damage when the cart is delivered.

You will not be held responsible for damage that existed before your rental.

## 13. Theft & Security

Remove the key whenever the cart is unattended and park it in a reasonably safe and legal location.

Do not leave the key in or near the cart.

You are not automatically responsible if a properly secured cart is stolen.

However, you may be responsible for losses resulting from your negligence—for example, leaving the key in the cart or failing to take reasonable steps to secure it.

## 14. Lost or Damaged Equipment

Lost cart key: US$50

Lost or damaged charging cable/charger: US$100

## 15. Pets

Pets are welcome.

You are responsible for any physical damage your pet causes to the cart.

We do not charge normal cleaning fees.

## 16. No Smoking or Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not permitted in or on our carts.

You are responsible for any physical damage caused by smoking or vaping.

## 17. Tickets, Fines & Impound Costs

You are responsible for traffic tickets, parking tickets, fines or penalties resulting from your use of the cart.

If your actions cause the cart to be towed, stored, immobilized or impounded, you are also responsible for the resulting towing, storage and recovery costs and any reasonable costs Coastal Cart Co. incurs dealing with the incident.

## 18. Return & Pickup

The cart must be available for pickup at the agreed end of your rental.

We allow a 30-minute grace period.

If the cart is not available within that grace period because you are still using it or have not made it available for pickup, we may charge an additional rental day.

Free delivery and pickup are available within our normal service area.

## 19. Extending Your Rental

Want to keep the cart longer? Contact us.

Extensions are subject to availability and must be approved by Coastal Cart Co.

Until we approve an extension, your original rental end time still applies.

## 20. Personal Injury & Safe Use

Golf carts are open vehicles and driving them involves normal risks, including traffic, uneven roads, hills, weather and the actions of other road users.

By renting and using the cart, you and your passengers accept the normal risks associated with golf cart travel.

The renter is responsible for operating the cart safely and for making sure passengers follow the safety rules.

Coastal Cart Co. is not responsible for injuries or losses caused by unsafe driving, passenger behaviour, road conditions, prohibited use or failure to follow these terms and the instructions provided with the cart.

This does not remove Coastal Cart Co.'s responsibility for problems caused by our own negligence or a cart defect that we knew, or reasonably should have known, about.

## 21. Damage to Other People or Property

You are responsible for your operation of the cart.

If your negligent, illegal or prohibited use of the cart causes injury or damage to another person, vehicle or property, you are responsible for the resulting claim or loss, subject to any applicable insurance coverage.

You also agree to protect Coastal Cart Co. from reasonable claims and costs resulting from your negligent, illegal or prohibited use of the cart.

## 22. Following the Rules

Please follow Costa Rican traffic laws, these rental terms and the operating and safety instructions provided by Coastal Cart Co.

The person making the booking is responsible for making sure authorized drivers and passengers understand the rules that apply to them.

## 23. About This Agreement

These terms form part of your golf cart rental agreement when you complete your booking.

If any part of these terms cannot legally be enforced, the remaining terms still apply.
